Medical certificate is needed to apply for China visa?

Hi everyone. I am going to be heading for China as part of my back packing efforts soon. Or at least, that is what I am hoping for. But some friend of mine has just told me that I will need a medical certificate in order to apply for the visa. Is that right? Can someone tell me what this is all about please?

No worries, as long as you are going on a short trip to China as a simple tourist, you are not going to be needing any medical certificate to get your visa. The medical certificate is needed only for the Z type visa for longer stays and therefore does not apply to you. Enjoy your trip!
