Is there a bus from Cairns to Sydney?

I am going to Australia this summer, to visit an old friends of mine, he lived in Sydney for several years but now he is in Cairns. I guess I won’t be having any problems finding him, but I would like to know is there a bus from Sydney to Cairns? And what kind of place is it?

When you head north from Sydney along the East Australian Coast, at one point you will end up in Cairns. And of course there is a bus and some other means of transportation, don’t worry. The place itself is very interesting and I guess you will be doing a lot of exploring of the surrounding area (beaches, crocodiles area, cattle stations etc).

Is there a bus from Cairns to Sydney?
