What's interesting in Algeria?

I am hoping to go on a tour of Africa with some of my friends this year. We are at university and have a long holiday, so we can stay in Africa for about a month. Algeria is a country we are also considering to go to. Is it worth doing so, and if so what is interesting to see in the area? I would love to hear from you soon, your comments are very much appreciated!

I wouldn't go there if I were you. I was not at all impressed by the country and found little there to be of interest and found the people to be unpleasant and weary of foreigners. There is so much to see in Africa that I really don't think you should fill your time by visiting places like this.
