Which area in France would you recommend and why?

I am thinking about going to France for my next vacation. It is my first trip so I don’t know where to go and what to see there. There are so many popular places and areas. Which area in France would you recommend and why? Your info will help me to choose my next destination.

France is an amazing country and each area has its beauty and attractions. It is not easy to pick one but if I had to I would definitely choose Riviera Côte d'Azur. It is fantastic. It is a place of never ending sunshine and blue water. Many beautiful cities and towns like Nice, Antibes, and Cannes are enough to forget about everything else.
