Cairns or Melbourne with small kids?

Hi,
I am going to take a trip to Australia with my wife and kids. We will stay there for about two weeks and I was wondering where is better to go with small kids, Cairns or Melbourne?I hope to get the answer and than you a lot in advance! bye

Hello,
It is always difficult to take a trip when taking the kids with you. I have traveled to Melbourne with kids last year and it was great, but 2 years earlier when I was in Cairns I had better time. The city is not that big, and I didn't feel that much pressure worrying about my kids. I will recommend Cairns because of the attractions like coral reefs and rain forests near Cairns.
