| I’m a big fan of classical music, but I must admit that I’m not so very fond of opera. But, I think that though opera performances are a way of rich and spoiled to show off without actually enjoying the music itself, I think that each music lover should visit great opera houses whenever there is possibility. Has anyone Opera at Covent Garden? |

| I completely agree with you on this one. Unlike chamber music and orchestral music, which can be performed in every possible environment and the fact that there is only minimal decoration and scenery cannot spoil the effects. Quite the opposite, the absence of the visual stimuli enables you to concentrate on music itself and enjoy only audio aspects. When it comes to opera, poor scene and costumes can destroy the whole performance, regardless of the fact that singers are impeccable. That’s why I also think that opera performances should be observed in luxurious settings. Covent Garden is one of such places and I warmheartedly suggest everybody to go there when in London. Even the ones that find classical music boring are completely amazed at what they can see and hear there. |
