from Sydney to LAX - what cultural differences to expect?

Hi! Im from Switzerland and because of me being a businessman I have to travel a lot. The moment I get used to a surrounding is usually the moment I have to leave that country and go to the next one. Ive had a lot bad experiences regarding the cultural differences of the many places I have visited due to my lack of knowledge. Currently I am located in Sydney and from there I have to go to Los Angeles (LAX). So I would highly appreciate if anyone could tell me what cultural differences to expect?

Hello! There is a huge cultural difference from Sydney to LA. I mean the whole of Australia is so strong in culture. Australians and Americans dont really have high opinions of each other. I think that although they speak the same language, with different accents, they want to present themselves as absolutely different. I think that the main cultural difference between the two is that Americans are much more proud of themselves as a nation, and Australians are evidently really humble when talking about their historical past. Todays generations in Australia, especially Sydney, are trying to imitate all that popular culture that has been emerging from America for a long time now. But I personally think that Australians are much friendlier and are always ready to help out when someone is in need. You wont find that kind of acceptance back in the States.
