| I got a job in Bangkok, so I will be situated there for a while. I will need an apartment to rent. Of course, there will be some other expenses : food, clothes, electricity, phone, drinks, etc. I wonder if someone can tell me how much cost of living in Bangkok is. Is it cheap or expensive? Thanks. |

| Well, for Westerners, Bangkok is a cheaper then most Western towns. There are really rich people and there are very poor people. So, cost of living in Bangkok for those two different categories of people differs. For a rent, you'll need 5.000-25.000 bahts per month. The first price include single room apartment. Electricity and water cost about 2000 bahts. Food in restaurants is up to 200 bahts per portion. Toothpaste, shampoo and soap are about 100 bahts. Local brands are cheaper then imported ones. But if you want some European brands, you'll have to pay more. |
