Hi there. I am going to be making a trip trough Africa this year and I was also hoping to visit Ghana on my travels. As I am a woman travelling on my own I am a bit worried about safety matters. Could you advise me on how to go about things please? It would be a great help to me. Thank you.

Hello to you too. Going to Africa, well that sounds really great! Do make sure that you have taken the right precautions. Go and have your vaccinations before you will hit the road. I am thinking about yellow fever and polio. Also I'd try to stay away from live birds because of the bird flu virus. There is bottled water available only due to a recent cholera outbreak. It is wise to take the necessary safety precautions, foreign people have been known to get mugged. Share a cab, and try not to have lots of money on you. The same goes for for valuables as well.
It would be best to travel with two or more people at the same time.
Have a very nice time and enjoy you trip trough Africa.
