I am leaving for Australia next Tuesday. I plan to book a flight today. I am staying in Australia for three weeks and plan to buy a return ticket. I have never traveled to Australia or any other continent before, so I wonder what the best transcontinental companies are. I used the services of some local air companies, but I doubt that they operate international air routes. Which is the best airline to fly with from USA to Australia?

I have never traveled from USA to Australia, but I know that the flight is very long and exhausting. My brother traveled from USA to Australia last year and he told me that the flight lasted for about 14 or 15 hours. This means that you should take a reliable company whose airplanes are good, modern, comfortable, safe and well equipped. My brother was satisfied with the company he traveled with. He said that the flight was pleasant, so he could sleep all the time. I remember that he told me that the food served on the plane was excellent, much better than that he ate at the hotel in Australia. I think that he traveled with United Airlines, but I am not sure.

Qantas will give you direct flights to Australia from the US as well as a few US airlines. If you don't mind a layover in Hong Kong or Singapore, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines are probably the two best airlines in the world.

Cathay won best airline in the world for 2009, Singapore won last year on the Skytrax poll. Qantas is probably your best bet to get you there without layovers from cities like Los Angeles.
