Where would you suggest to stay in Vancouver?

Yesterday we have decided to go to go and spend some time in Vancouver. The way it looks, we will spend one week over there. I would now like to ask you people for some help. Sourcing great hotels on the web is not my strong point - I prefer getting a personal recommendation. So please, tell me what your favourite hotel is in Vancouver!!

My favorite hotel? It is very nice, but does also come with the bill that you would expect of a very nice hotel. It is the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Vancouver. This is certainly one of the finest hotels in Vancouver, even more so since its recent renovation. The location is also very convenient, so you will be able to easily get around the city!
