Where to stay in Sydney

Hello you guys! I am a student on my gap year and I will be off to Sydney very soon. Are there any people out here from there, or who have been there? I need to find a cheap place to stay. I dont min camping either and I have my own light weight tent with me. But a youth hostel will be fine too. Your tips are appreciated!

Around China Town the accommodation is cheapest. There is lots of cheap accommodations in Sydney so not to worry. Save the tent for some other time! Around the central station, too, you stand a good chance of finding something cheap. There is a giant youth hostel somewhere in Sydney that has a pool and stuff. Perhaps you should check that out?

We stayed at the Simpsons at Potts Point B&B- loved it, it was soo relaxing, their breakfasts were wonderful and a stone's throw from the park which was just perfect!
