Where to stay in Cayenne?

We have been looking for a good destination for a month or so. Then, the other day we saw some TV show about French Guiana. The very first moment we saw the footage, we knew that we wanted to go there. So, here we are, going to Cayenne in three weeks. Can someone tell me where to stay in Cayenne?

Accommodation in Cayenne depends on location. If you are going to be there without a car, then I suggest you look for accommodation in Central Cayenne. On the other hand, if you have a car, or plan to rent one, then you may consider staying in the areas around Cayenne because you will be able to save money.

You are right. There are wonderful gîtes, where you can stay for a week or so. As for the central location, you may consider Hotel Ket Tai at 72 Blvd Jubelin and La Bodega at 42 Av du Gènèral de Gaulle for more reasonable pricing. Central Hôtel at cnr Rues Molé & du Lieutenant Becker is more expensive.

Hotel Les Amandiers at Place Auguste-Hort and Oyasamaïd at PK 4, route de la Madeleine, chemin Castor are pricey but they offer really good accommodation and great service. Oyasamaïd is a typically Guinese family pension with four rooms. It is nice and clean with various amenities like Jacuzzi. It is located only five minutes to Central Cayenne.
