Where to go on a family vacation: UK or Ireland?

I am trying to convince my family that Ireland is a perfect destination for our next family vacation, but they do not seem to be interested for this option at all. Instead, they keep insisting on going somewhere in UK. Is there anyone who could tell me which would be a better choice (having in mind that my wife is neutral and she doesn’t want to participate in making a final decision)?

In my opinion, the best choice is the one that is chosen by majority. I mean, what is wrong with UK, why don’t you like the idea of spending your family vacation there? Anyway, if you do not agree with my 'strategy', then I think that it would be the best if you simply picked some third destination, which would be equally attractive to all of you, including your wife.
