Where's the best fun? At sea or in port

I am thinking of having some cruising trip next summer just for the fun but than again I am thinking what would I be doing on the ship for days I mean is it boring? And those cruising ship I guess they have this pause at certain ports so I am interested if it is possible to get out of the ship while on port or I am about to stay on board. And anyway where is the best fun- at sea or in port?

You could have fun on port whenever you want I guess so while you are on cruising I am pretty much sure that you will have fun also at sea while cruising that is why you will have a cruise anyway? You now most of the cruise line organizes the entertainment program and plus usually there are many people on board you could make contacts with having a great time. I dont know for you but I had 7 cruising trip so far and I always had so much fun out there at sea though you always have this opt on getting some fun out in some port.
