Hi everyone! I have been reading up about these adventure holidays recently, like rafting in South America and similar things. This looks like an excellent way to spend a holiday - very exiting! But is it safe? What is the percentage of danger and risk in adventure tourism? I would love to hear from people who have experience in these holidays.

In general, all the holidays that are organized by reputable, recognised travel tour operators, especially ones that have health and safety certificates, are fine. You should watch out for dodgy local operations that seem to be run in an unprofessional manner. You can ask the tourist board for advice on which companies are good.
