What is it about New Orleans?

What is it about New Orleans that makes it so appealing to tourists? My boyfriend wants us to go there on vacation, but Im still reluctant because I think that its still too early to go there after all the destruction it underwent. Is it safe there now and what about the infrastructure? What do you think?

Well, before that series of disastrous hurricanes New Orleans was the city with the most authentic spirit in the United States. Merging of various influences and cultural heritages created its renowned atmosphere. I think that everybody must come to the place where jazz was born and see the clubs where some of the most famous musicians performed. Vibrant neighborhoods and colorful architecture are also the reason for its popularity. Id go there despite the catastrophes only to feel the old southern spirit and walk the Bourbon Street. My great wish is to go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Dont let these bad things prevent you form seeing this beautiful city.
