I have been traveling a lot around the globe, for both business and pleasure. Unfortunately, even though I live in environment with high standards, but there are still places with poverty that are not suitable for living at all. But what really distinguishes a third world country? Is it poverty or something else? What is actually a problem here?

| I am afraid that you have started an issue that is as old as the civilization itself. From the first tribes all the way up to the modern societies, there were always differences in richness and wealth among people. Also, many countries that were devastated by previous and present wars will have a hard time catching up to the countries such as those from EU, USA, Northern Europe, few countries in Asia (Japan for example) etc. I guess that all aspects of a society are at a lower level in third world countries than in those I have mentioned. Still, this does not mean that people there are in any way inferior to us. Quite opposite, I think their fighting spirit is much stronger than ours is, because they have to do battle for gaining things we got without any struggle. |
