Hi, folks. New Years Eve is approaching and I still dont know where to spend it. My wife suggests New Orleans. Ive never been there and wonder how the town looks like now, after Katrina. Did it recover from its consequences? Maybe it isnt bad idea to spend New Years Eve helping people in trouble. Id like to hear your opinions.

Hi there. Maybe its better that youve never been in New Orleans, so you wont compare it with its status before. My wife and I passed last New Year in NOLA. In that 2 or 3 days you can compare NOLA to Vegas. If you have enough money, you can stay in French Quarter. You can do some sightseeing of architecture. French Quarter has a unique spirit and you need to feel it yourself. Probably, there will be some kind of spectacle on the streets, but I am not into crowded streets full with drunk people. I hope you will spend some nice time there. Please let me know your impressions after the holidays.
