What about Fasching-Rosenmontag festivities in Frankfurt area?

My friend is living and working in Frankfurt almost a decade now. He said that he does not plan to return to our country, he said that he found his life there, which I respect. I will be going there to visit him in next few months and I am really looking forward to see what Frankfurt has to offer. But, what about Fasching-Rosenmontag festivities in Frankfurt area? How to avoid those?

I think that Mainz, Dsseldorf, Cologne and this entire area close to the Rhine and all the way to the French border should be avoided. Frankfurt and areas east and south from this town should be safe. I know that all this might sound paranoid, bit I dont think it is, not when you know what is celebrated on these festivities.
