Im sending my kid to excursion to Italy next week. I wonder if it is safe for him to drink tap water. I know that in most European countries, people buy bottled water. Is it the same case in Italy? If you know something, please be honest. It is the health of my kid considering. Thanks.

Hi. I was last year as an advanced university student on excursion to Rome, Florence and Venice. I wont tell you how beautiful these cities are. Your son will see it for himself. During all my staying in Italy I drank tap water and it didnt lead me to any kind of hospitalization. Not only that all people drank tap water, they also drank water from the fountains and they pored water from the same fountains into their bottles. The water that is used in cafes to make coffee, cappuccino or something else was perfectly safe also. I hope that others that traveled to Italy will confirm my belief. I hope your son will have a great time in Italy.
