Hello! What are the interesting sights in Egypt? I know that pyramids, the Sphinx and cruising down the Nile are the usual and inevitable landmarks, but I want something more challenging. So, what can you tell me about climbing Mount Sinai and St. Catherines Monastary? Is that route exhausting? Im fond of long walks and trekking, but mountaineering is a bit too much for me.

I meant to visit St. Catherines Monastery last time I was in Egypt, but I thought it would be very tiring so I gave up. But, the people from my group who visited it had such a great time and were so impressed, that Im very sorry I missed that opportunity. It is one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world and has a valuable collection of various relics. The monastery itself is located at hardly accessible valley near the Mount Sinai, but once you get there you forget all the hardships of the journey. But, that is only if you want to reach it like pilgrims do! The point is, you can get there by bus and avoid any trouble.
