Visiting Darfur

I am planning on visiting Darfur within next month –my fiancé is working there within UN organizations and though he advised me not to going there still I am curious how safe it is visiting Darfur these days? Anyway I am planning on booking a flight to Khaortum but than I need somehow to reach Darfur-and the thing is that I am not willing to let my fiancé know about my arrival I would like to surprise him with this Darfur visit so how am I suppose to reach Darfur starting from Khaortum.

Well if I were you I would never have this trip alone for you know it is not that safe traveling through Sudan these days especially if you are a woman alone visiting Darfur. I guess you are already somewhat familiar with this civil war situation and the civilians are not 100% protected there yet so maybe you should consider better letting your fiancé’ being familiar with your visit to Darfur so that he could organize some more secure transport for you from Khaortum.
