Hi, do you have some suggestions as to which car to use for a trip round Ireland? Id like to really take my time seeing every part of the country, and when I arrive in Dublin I am going to be renting a car. Ill be traveling on my own but will have quite a bit of luggage, and as Im into archeology Ill have my metal detector with me too.

The best thing to do is probably to rent a Jeep or something similar so that you will have no problems in driving over rocks and through the mountains. Some of the roads in smaller places are not of the best quality although in Dublin they are great. Also you will have space to take anything interesting you might want to buy along the way. Even though a Jeep is probably a lot more expensive to hire than a small car, youll be grateful for the added comfort!
