Two nights at Greenwich Village? Need hotel recommendations

I am going to New York next summer and I will be spending two nights at Greenwich Village, I have to attend to some art seminar. I hope you will give me some hotel suggestions. I really need an advice, I haven’t spent much time in NYC, and it was always for a day or two tops.

Perhaps you should stay at the same place you have been the last time you were in New York. I guess you don’t know, that even this is artistic region, there are not many people who can afford living/renting there. West of Broadway and bellow 14th Street, this was always a Mecca for all those with an artistic soul.
