My friend and I have finally managed to organize and agree to go on a typical backpacking two week trip to Ethiopia, despite the fact that many people around us do not take us seriously at all. One of the things that we would like to be sure of is whether or not there are any ATPs there, and/or money exchange offices, so if there is anyone willing to help us with that, we would appreciate it.

Well, speaking from my experience, I can tell you that when it comes to this, credit and debit cards are not widely accepted, so you should not rely too much on that way of paying the bills. As for exchange offices, I used to exchange money in banks, because it was the easiest place to find. Even if there are any exchange offices besides the banks, I did not see any.
