Traveling from Chamonix to Zermatt

Hello, can I dump some questions on you guys? Ill be traveling to Chamonix in France with a friend in July and move on to Zermatt from there. So I need to find out what the easiest way is to get there from Charmonix, and how long does the trip take? Thanks for your help as I have never been in this area before

You should go by train this is a beautiful area and you will enjoy the views along the way. There is a mountain train that goes through the alps, catch this from Chamonix. At the river Rhone you should get off and change onto the train to Zermatt. There is some European Rail website where you can book all your tickets as well as obtain special passes if you are doing lots of traveling. I forgot the URL but you could do a search on it. It will be lots easier if you dont have to worry about getting your tickets anymore!
