I have a question to ask. I plan a little trip around Eastern Europe. I wonder if I should book train. Are there some Inter Rail tickets like in Western Europe? How much do they cost? Ive never been to that part of Europe and I dont know how the railway system works there. Thank you.

Ahoy there. I do my business once a month in Eastern Europe. I have a wide territory to cover towns in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Budapest. The first time I went there for a business, I took Inter Rail. These countries are now members of EU and belong to their railway system. The trains are pretty comfortable, the stuff is polite and the food is very good. But then I sat down, took a pen and calculated that it would be much cheaper for me to rent a car, then to change several trains. I came with a figure of $500 less with traveling by car. I dont know if I calculated good, but this is a lot of money. If you have a valid drivers license, I recommend you to rent a car. It is more comfortable, you can make breaks whenever you want and you will save some money.
