Tipping customs in New Zealand?

We are going to New Zealand for couple for weeks and I guess I would like to get to know that country before I head there (tipping customs for example). I ask for that particularly because we did not know that tipping was illegal in Argentina and that could have gotten us in the trouble, but luckily it didn’t. So, can you help us?

I am not sure, but I don’t think there is any tipping in NZ. Not that it’s illegal but I guess the entire concept of it is strange to them. Which is weird, because the tipping is something quite common and expected in Australia. Hmm, I guess this is something many tourists that go to NZ will welcome!
