Were going to Paris on holiday! Just one thing I would like to know, is it customary there to tip the Concierge and if so, by how much? Its s strange thing to be worried about perhaps, but its better to be safe then sorry isnt it? The last thing I want is for someone to get insulted or embarrassed when I am supposed to have a good time!

Sure, tip at your own discretion, the concierge will certainly not get insulted by this as it is normal. Not too much and not too little, I would think around 5 or something like that would be a good amount. But its up to you, and of course it depends on the kind of hotel you are staying at too.
