Thailand vs Laos?

I wonder where to go: to Thailand or to Laos. I have never been to either of them, so I don't know what I could expect in Thailand and what in Laos. I've heard a lot of nice things about both these countries, but I need someone who went there to transmit the authentic experience he or she had there because I don't believe everything I read, you know. So, please, let someone make a comparison: Thailand vs Laos.

I went to both countries and still cannot give you any advice. I'm pretty hesitant, but let me try. Thailand natural beauty is stunning. You'll find the remains of the kingdom, but also the beautiful mountains and islands. You can visit the Tiger Temple which is a real wonder and a proof that the most bloodthirsty animals can be tamed. Thai cuisine is also very delicious. On the other hand, as far as I am informed, it is a country that was put under military control after some bomb explosions. Laos is in a way similar to Thailand. It is mountainous and interesting, but less attractive I think. However, the climate is better in Laos in the autumn. There are no monsoons as in Thailand.
