My girlfriend and I are planning an almost a month vacation in Thailand. We'll probably be in Bangkok and the not to be missed Phuket. Am not so sure if Changmai and Pattaya are worth seeing too? We want to have more cultural and local experience, being with the people and immersing ourselves in their local customs and traditions. Do you have suggestions where to go or what to do?

Hey, if you need more local experience you should visit the northeastern Thailand. There're many sandstones castle here! The largest sandstone castle in Thailand is in Buriram province, it was built in the same era of Angkor wat. And if you want to join some exotic festival, just go to Yasothon where it has bamboo rocket festival, you can go in rainy season or before. And Ubon rachathani is a place to visit for some cool landscape there! The month is too short if you like to get to know Thailand.
