I have a sister living in Auckland. She invited me and my children to visit her and her family there. Although I can’t go right now, my children are flying there next month. I am concerned about their nights out. Is there any teens’ stuff in Auckland? I don’t want them to go to some dangerous places and meet suspicious people.

First, don’t worry about the crime. The crime rate in Australia and New Zealand is very low and there are no gang wars, killing on the streets and things like that. There are many nice places to go out for teenagers in Auckland. Beside teen’s clubs, discos and cafes there are things like Youth Arts Festival – a good way to encourage young children and teenagers to participate in performing arts. The works of young writers are staged by adult theater companies. The Auckland Secondary Schools Band and Orchestra are also participating. Also Village 12 is something worth visiting. It is set in futuristic sci-fi architecture with 12-screen multiplex that has the latest equipment with digital sound, stadium seating and removable arms. You can watch movie previews on an enormous screen (6.5m by 3.5m). Also, there are restaurants, games center, food hall, shops with Borders Books Megastore and Internet café in the same complex.
