Star observatory in Cherry Springs

I need some information about a place that I intend to visit next week. Namely, I have come across this place by chance as I have read a headline about a ‘star party’. It seemed to me like some kind of a party with laser lights and similar effects. But, now I know what it means. I would like to visit Cherry Springs and it would be great if you could tell me something about it.

Well, I don’t know much about Star Observatory in Cherry Springs myself, but I will tell you what I know. I know that this place is famous for so-called star parties (believe it or not, but I had the same idea about them as you when I first heard that term). There is this observatory which is open for public. Cherry Springs is situated in Philadelphia and there are even some regulations about the street lights in nearby towns and cities so that the possibility of unspoiled observing the night skies there would be preserved. It seems that street lights have some kind of negative impact on the visibility of the night sky. I think that everybody who can see should visit this place as it is really amazing.
