Spending the night near Lake George

I will be for about 10 days in New York, must say a bit exited when it comes to this trip. Some of my friends and I suppose to meet there and spend marvelous ten days. Considering that some of them are working there and will have only weekend days for fun we made a deal to spend one night near Lake George. I have no idea if there is any kind of accommodation next to this lake so I am willing to look for any kind of suggestion here with this thread.

Lake George is a nice getaway from the city rush in New York. I would suggest you The Georgian Resort (Canada Street) which I found a nice place. It is placed right n the lake and has its own private beach although swimming pool is also included as offer if you book your room in this one. I must say I have spent some time there with my family and really is great for bigger gatherings and trips. I am not sure if you could just crash there for one night and how popular place is in general (was a bit packed when I was there), but you could take a chance with this one.
