Salzburg this autumn is my final tourist destination this year or I will go bankrupt. I know that the whole old town of Salzburg has been pronounced part of World Heritage Site, but I need some more detailed info on where to go and what not to miss seeing. I will have roughly about seven days to stroll along the streets of Salzburg.
I am a bit of a Mozart fan and the first thing I would visit if I were in your shoes would be Mozart's Birthplace and Mozart's Residence. And then, when they kick me out after six days I would turn to something else. Or maybe I would just stay outside those two places I have told you about. Also worth seeing are the Salzburg Cathedral and the fortress Hohensalzburg. I think that is about all you will have time. There are a lot of great places, but it is not worth going there and then run so you can meet the time requirement.
