Right definition of Adventure Travel?

Greeting to all travelers! I am sure that you too, just like me, often hear about Adventure Travel on the TV and in the advertisements. I was wandering if anyone of you has the right definition of it. It seems to me that adventure travel has a different meaning for different tour operators. Share opinions.

Hello! Well I have got no tourism degree, but I think that it is understood that adventure is not a mainstream type of holiday and it involves various activities that are opposite to simple sitting at the beach with occasional entering into the sea. For me it has to include some sport activity such as hiking, or trekking and it has to include visit to some remote area. But that’s just me.
