Need trip experiences from Sierra Leone and Cameroon

I am thinking of having some trip in Sierra Leone or Cameroon this year for I have already saw some great pictures of these 2 countries and now I need to hear some trip experiences from Sierra Leone and Cameroon. The thing is that I have heard that a trip to these areas may be dangerous so is it true or I may keep on going there. Thanks!

It is been many years now since I have visited Sierra Leone –but I never visited Cameroon so it is not like I could tell you some trip experience from Cameroon. And anyway I have some very nice experiences from my trip to Sierra Leone and by the time I was there it was not dangerous at all or I can not recall it but as I have heard lately it may be dangerous going there these days. But anyway I had great time there and I loved spending my time on those beautiful beaches there on Freetown peninsula and I had some great boat trips there to some very interesting islands such as Banana and turtle islands but also you need some boat trip to get to some beaches and though there were some speed boats I loved reaching the beaches by canoes known as “pam pams”-it was such good experience.
