| Hi! I recently won a five-day trip to Italy. I will refrain from going south and concentrate on northern part. However, I am not sure whether to spend the time in Milan or in Florence. I have heard that both of these cities are fantastic, but unfortunately I can not visit both of them. So, I would like someone help me choose between these two cities. |

| Hello! I see there is tough choice you have to make. Each of the cities is very nice, and whichever you choose, you wont regret. However, I can point you to some differences that can help you make the best decision. Florence is one of the oldest towns. It looks exactly the same as it did couple of centuries ago. The old architecture is stunning, just as are the amazing Tuscan landscape. The city itself has an impressive artistic legacy, with lots of museums to visit. So, if you look for going back through time, with art, history and culture flooding your senses, with peace and quiet all the way, definitely go to Florence. Milan, on the other side the most dynamic city in Italy. It is the most sophisticated and high-tech metropolis, and there is not so much historical sites as in Florence. The nightlife is excellent. Not only that it is not the place of peace and quiet, it is the pulse Italy today. If that is what you prefer, definitely visit Milan. |
