Merzouga or Zagora

I need someone to help me chose Merzouga or Zagora. I am planning on visiting Morocco this year –I will be staying in Casablanca for ten days -and would like so much to see the desert from this point and I have heard that actually Merzouga and Zagora are the perfect place for seeing the desert and I am curious to hear which one would be greater opt.

Well it all depends what kind of desert experience you would prefer though both places Merzouga and Zagora are just perfect for seeing the desert since those are actually the best desert gateways there in Morocco but if you ask me more authentic desert experience you could get by visiting desert from Zagora for it is not like you will reach the desert directly from Zagora for you would have to go first to M’hamid and after this you reach some beautiful palm oases until you reach at the Erg Chigaga sand dunes you may ride a camel from this point and if so the ride would take hours but anyway it is very exciting. And as for the Merzouga it is much more closer to get there from Casablanca and it is not that authentic desert experience but still you have beautiful chance to visit the desert and Merzouga is perfect opt for those who prefer more conformity for there are many hotel s there just on the line of Erg Chebbi sand dunes so basically you have a direct approach to the desert form Merzouga.
