Melbourne hotel for around 100-150 $

I am going to Melbourne for some convention, and as usual, my company pays only half of the expenses. So, I guess I will have to cut on the fees, if I think to enjoy myself a bit there. Anyway, I need a Melbourne hotel for around 100-150$. It does not have to be some extra place, I just need somewhere to sleep over, since I will be spending most off the day at the convention and most of the night in downtown.

I have stayed at Saville City Suites in East Melbourne and I have to say that I was quite pleased with the service and the price is just around your requirements. It is located opposite of the Cricket ground and is close to Botanic gardens and Victorian Art center. Although something tells me you are not that interested in plants and art, but the night life in Melbourne. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.
