Hello! I am about to set off for Malawi and regarding the fact that I will spent next 2 years there in Lilongwe and will be visiting Mzuzu very often I would also like learning Chichewa. The thing is I have no slightest idea of Chichewa language and I suppose it is not that easy learning this Bantu language without having any Chichewa lessons so I am curious is it possible visiting Malawi and learning Chichewa in some school or course whatever?

You haven’t mentioned your age but I suppose you are young regarding the fact you would like having some learning Chichewa course in Malawi. Anyway I am not that much familiar with details regarding learning Chichewa but I know that you may go seek some info as soon as you reach Lilongwe for I think there is some Language University there organizing all kinds of different Chichewa language course regarding its length. Actually my colleague’s daughter spent about a year in Malawi and as I know I think she was learning Chichewa there in Malawi along with having participating some Africa Programme there
