Madrid for few days before Christmas?

I have some time off just before Christmas and thought I would use that to go to Madrid with my boyfriend fir a few days to relax and enjoy each other. I have been looking around for hotels and have seen some I like the look of, and I am sure that everything else will fall into place as we go along. But could you tell me what are must sees in Madrid? Thanks

That depends what you are into. I like old buildings and architecture myself and the Royal Palace of Madrid is well worth seeing. The Catedral dela Almudena is also something very impressive and for a Madrid first timer I would sure see that you should go and see that. These are cliches, it is true, but being a tourist can be very liberating at times.
