My husband is busy throughout the year and the only time he will be free for vacation is in October. It wouldnt be that bad if we werent planning Thailand - Khao Lak for our destination. I know that main tourist season there starts from November, after the monsoon season has finished. Is it any good in October there or were just wasting our money?

Its true that the effects of monsoon season are still present in October. Its a rainy month, not as rainy as September, but the weather is not so fair then. Khao Lak is, as far as I know, one of the most exclusive resorts in Thailand. That is, it has become even more exclusive during the past 3 years. Everything had to be rebuilt after the tsunami which destroyed almost whole region. I still think that despite of rains and less sunshine, this time of year can be fine there. The ocean isnt particularly rough at this region, even during the monsoon season. I dont think youre wasting your money by going there in October.
