I will be going to Hawaii next month with my kids. We will be staying for several days there and unfortunately will have only one day in Volcano National Park. I would like to know what is the best way to organize that time in order to see as much as possible. If anyone could give me any tips, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Volcano is one of the most popular destinations in Hawaii, and not without a reason. It has many wonders worth exploring and your kids will surely be amazed. Of course, it would be best if you could spend several days there, but one day is still not all that bad. The first thing I recommend is to get up early, and drive on the crater rim so that you arrive at Thurston lava tube. It is one of the most popular spots, so it is best to arrive there until tourists start coming in great numbers. After that, I suggest you go down through the rain forest. I am sure you will find that amazing and entertaining. Go across the crater then and I am sure you will be amazed with surroundings that consist entirely of lava, older and younger. In a way, it would be like a trip through time, as you will almost certainly forget everything else going through that environment.
