As I will be visiting Adana soon, I would like to know a few things about this city. I have heard a bit about that famous Stone Bridge, and some mosques I should visit. But, a friend told me he thinks there is a legend connected to the name of the city. I browsed the net, but couldn’t find it. Does anyone know something about it maybe?

I have heard something, but not sure if I remember it well. The whole region, where this city is located is called The Region of Ada, because it is believed that Adad, the Thunder god lived around here. It is also believed that this god brought rain to this region, and that the abundance of this area is his credit. The city is, as I know, mentioned in the Epic Of Gilgamesh. Anyway, it is a very old city, with many fantastic sights that you should visit while you are there. And the Stone Bridge is just one of them. MY personally favorite is The church of babies, located in the centre of the city.
