Is it true that West Coast in NZ has the most stunning scenery?

My boyfriend has been trying to convince me to go on holiday to New Zealand with him this year. That is not what I had had in mind - I wanted to go to Mexico!!! But he says that New Zealand has the most stunning scenery, and especially the West Coast is stunning. Is that true or is it a "marketing ploy" from his side?

New Zealand must be one of the most varied countries in the whole world, and while I agree on the Stunning Scenery part, I think that it would be grossly unfair to single out one area as the most beautiful. From wonderful beaches, to volcanic areas, to skiing - New Zealand has it all, and all of it is absolutely fantastic!!!
