Ever since I know about Colombia there have always been some safety problems, guerillas, kidnappings and similar things. That is why I have been avoiding this country all this time but now I want to reconsider the idea of traveling there and I’m not sure how safe it is nowadays. Do you know whether it is still dangerous there or not?

I just don’t know what to say. Every now and then I hear about some guerilla kidnapped some people in order to obtain something. Colombia is still fighting with drug production and narco cartels which are very powerful. Maybe you should check what your foreign affairs department suggests you to do. There are always instructions about whether it is safe to visit a certain country or not. In my opinion, I don’t think that it is advisable to travel to Colombia. To put it in other words, I wouldn’t dare to travel there though the situation is said to have been improved. Brazil is also regarded to be quite dangerous but millions of tourists visit it each year.
