Is Portugal safe to travel around alone?

Hello. I am a 21 year old girl and I would like to go to Portugal and travel around. I am wondering if it is safe to travel around on my own? I would like to take someone with me but I dont know how to go with. My sister took a job as an au pair in France and my brother is sailing on a freighter to earn some money. My friends are all going on holiday with their boy or girlfriends. What should I do?

Hello. I am sure it is quite safe as long as you stick to public places to go to. I would not go to the poorer parts of town on my own if I where you. You would be an easy target for pickpockets en muggers. Not that Portugal is a bad place or anything but it is like that whereever you go. Have you thought of taking a travel buddy? You can find them online.
