I am going to the Montreal very soon. I will be staying there 3 months. I am going on a exchange of students. So, I will need to organize my transportation there. From my experience, I find that metro is most reliable, the fastest and the cheapest way of traveling. I need to find out one thing. Is Montreal Metro safe? It is really important for me to find out that information.

Canada is very well arranged country. Laws are very strict and legal system is very well built. So, there is not very big percentage of crime there. Last I was there, it was safe to go almost everywhere. I agree with you that metro is very good way of traveling. It is the cheapest and the fastest way, Especially if you are traveling all the time. Taxi is very expensive investment. I used metro couple times. And I must say that I find it very safe. I think that it haven’t changed since my last trip there. You can freely plan metro as your basic way of transportation. But maybe someone will be able to give you better advice.

Montreal's metro is an amazing place. I used to go down to the metro (see different stations) even when I didn't need the transportation to look at the exhibitions.
